2026 Opening Dates

Grand Targhee Resort — November 21
Start the season early on the west side of the Tetons. Grand Targhee is known for deep early snow, wide-open terrain, and that classic Teton backdrops skiers love.

Big Sky Resort — November 26
One of the biggest ski mountains in the country kicks off its season Thanksgiving week. With massive terrain, state-of-the-art lifts, and unbeatable big-mountain energy, Big Sky sets the tone for winter in Montana.

Red Lodge Mountain — November 28
Family-friendly and locally loved, Red Lodge opens the weekend after Thanksgiving. It’s a great place for relaxed laps, approachable terrain, and a true community feel.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort — November 28
Steep chutes, iconic terrain, and a mountain that draws skiers from all over the world. Jackson Hole’s opening day is always electric.

Snow King Mountain Resort — December 5
“The Town Hill” of Jackson opens in early December, offering night skiing, quick laps, and an easy-access winter escape right from town.

Sleeping Giant Ski Area — December 6 (Tentative)
Just outside the East Entrance of Yellowstone, this historic, family-owned ski area plans to open in early December. The date is tentative, but the charm—and the community spirit—are always a guarantee.

Bridger Bowl Ski Area — December 12
Bozeman’s home mountain opens a little later in the season, but always with a devoted crowd ready for the Ridge, the bowls, and that pure, no-frills Montana ski vibe.
